Overcoming Fear

Pain is unavoidable. Pain can cause scars, and the fear of pain can freeze us in our tracks. The Lord, however, can overcome pain, scars, and fear. He desires for us to have courage:

Joshua 1:9 KJV
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

When Joshua led the troops into battle to take back the promise land, it is likely that many men left the battle with injuries. Those injuries would later become scars, and scars are reminders.

When we look at our scars, we can allow Satan to remind us of the pain and stop us from being courageous at the next opportunity, OR we can remember how the Lord brought us through. God wants our mind on Him. He brought us through the pain last time, and He can bring us through again!

Romans 8:15 KJV
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Don’t let Satan use fear to stop you! Keep your mind on the Lord, and He will help you fight the battle. Scars are simply our victory banner of every time He’s brought us through!
