John 11:11-12 KJV
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
God is all-knowing, or omniscient. We are not. We are limited in our perception and our knowledge of situations and events, but God is not. When Christ is speaking to the disciples in the verses above, they misinterpret his statement due to their limited perception. How often does this happen to us!
Often, when God tells us something, rather than wait for him to give us more details/information, we jump to interpret it ourselves. By jumping ahead of God, we misinterpret what he says. That misinterpretation can cause us to miss out on blessings, fail to perform the service God has called us to do, or lead us to a wrong understanding of a person/event.
We need to stand still and wait for God to reveal the whole picture. When He does, we’ll see His Glory in full! Just as the disciples did when He loosed Lazarus from the grave (John 11:44).
