Has God Laid the Mantle Upon You?

1 Kings 19:19 KJV
So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

When Elijah laid his mantle upon Elisha it symbolized the calling of God upon him. He immediately made preparations and followed God.

When God gives us a calling, we need not only to accept it - but to act upon it! Elisha left his former life and joined Elijah in his ministry. He left everything he ever knew to do God’s will.

God doesn’t require that level of sacrifice from all of us, but are we willing to give up what he does ask us to set aside? Are we willing to follow Him wherever He asks us to go? Are we willing to perform God’s calling on our life?

It’s time we take the mantle, which means glory, of God and run with it!
