Any Objections to the Wedding?

When you attend a wedding, the minister typically asks, “If anyone here has any reason why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

In real life, no one ever speaks up, but in the movies this is when the ex-boyfriend comes running down the aisle to profess his love to the bride and whisk her away.

Now, spiritually-speaking, we are the bride of Christ. We need to search the depths of our souls and ensure that there are no objections to our union with Christ.

If we’ve turned our hearts away, becoming a prodigal (Luke 15), there will be an objection to our marriage.

If we’ve let our lamps run out of oil (Matt. 25), failing to prepare for His coming, there will be an objection to our marriage.

If we’ve become more excited about the things of this world than the coming of Christ (Matthew 13), there will be an objection to our marriage.

We must keep our hearts right with him. He wants us to be excited for his coming and for our impending marriage! Are you ready to go home and be with the bridegroom?

John 14:2 KJV
[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
