1 Peter 1:25 ...but the Word of the Lord endures forever.
God's word is always right. God's Word should mold our beliefs, convictions, and conscience. Our flesh attempts to do just the opposite. Flesh wants to align the Word with our life, the Spirit wants to align our life with the Word. (I’ll say it again to emphasize the importance of that statement).. Flesh wants to align the Word with our life, the Spirit wants to align our life with the Word. Do you see the difference there? We must allow the Word to come alive inside of us and change us.
God's word is the foundational and transformative force in the life the Christian. His Word provides us with life, direction, purpose and freedom. God's word describes God's nature and desires and helps us walk according to God's desires. David describes it as a lamp to his feet and a light to his path. God's word not only shows you where you are but shows you where you are going.
God's word opens the door to one of the greatest attributes we can can have, consistency. We need to make sure that the things we think, do and say are consistent with our beliefs, convictions, and conscience.
One of the purposes of the Holy Ghost is to be our consistency checker. Through His inspiration and revelation, He reveals inconsistencies in our lives. Things that do not line up with the Word of God. Then he also helps us restore consistency; when we allow Him to modify our beliefs, convictions, and conscience and bring them inline with the Word. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
The old song says “have thine own way Lord, thou art the potter Ian the clay, mold me and make me after thy will... “
Lord, our desire is to be more like you. To allow you Holy Spirit to make us into the men you want us to be. Let our lives glorify you.. Amen
