Exodus 40:38 KJV
For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
This final verse of the book of Exodus tells us God was visibly present to the Israelites by day and by night. God even changed the manifestation of his presence to make him most visible in each part of the day. All throughout the book of Exodus, God is revealing Himself and His power to the Israelites.
In Exodus chapter 3, God uses the burning bush to reveal Himself to Moses. I don’t know about you, but God’s never talked to me inside a bush. However, He has spoken to me as I worshipped in church, drove my car down the highway, and walked through my neighborhood. God is still revealing Himself to those who seek Him.
In Exodus chapters 7-10, God’s shows how devastating His power can be to those who come against His will and His people during the 10 plagues of Egypt. And in Exodus chapter 17, God shows His power can be life-giving, as it was when Moses stuck the rock and water emerged for the people to drink. He provided the people with clothes to wear, food to eat, and water to drink. He will always provide Your every need if you serve Him.
In addition to His provision, God will meet us in our trying situations and show himself faithful. For the Israelites, they faced impending doom from Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea (Exodus 14). God made them a way of escape, just as He does for us:
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The answer to all of our problems, just as it was for the Israelites in the book of Exodus, is to keep the Lord continually in our sights. He will reveal Himself unto us, provide our every need, and show himself faithful in our trials and tribulations.
