The Pursuit of Excellence

Paul says "I press toward the mark" (Phil 3:14). We are to strive for excellence. Every effort must be made to excel in our spiritual walk. To excel in our pursuit of the prize (Jesus).
This is a conscious decision every moment of every day. Yesterday is past and tomorrow is determined on what I do today. Today I must be excellent for Him. I cannot and will not settle for less. The stakes are far to high. Today I will pursue His excellence in everything I do. My work, my conversation, my prayers, my relationships. All is the quest of excellence, pressing toward the mark.
Say this preyer with me: "Lord, I delight to do your will. Lead me and guide me in your path today. Show me your ways and I will follow. Help me surrender my will and my plan that I may pursue excellence and be found worthy in your sight,  amen".
