Do You Need A Ram?

When Abraham traveled up Mount Moriah to sacrifice Isaac - he knew God would provide! Whether that was raising Isaac from the dead or some other miracle; you can’t have descendants as the stars of heaven (Gen. 15:5) without a child to bring those descendants into being.

Personally, I’m not sure I would’ve had Abraham’s level of faith, but I do know, if we want to see the ram caught in the thicket (Gen. 22:13) in our own lives: we need faith.

Faith moves mountains (Mark 11:23), but only if we believe. Every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17), but only if we ask for it (James 4:2).

Now James cautions us in chapter 4 of his epistle:

“Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (verses 2-3).

We can seek God for the wrong provision or the right provision with the wrong desires, but when we get our desires in line with His - He will send the ram for our needs and even some of our wants.

He wants to bless his children. He wants to give them good gifts (Luke 11:13), but he won’t supply it unless you’re asking (James 4:2) and intend to use it for His purposes (James 4:3).
