When Jesus fed the multitudes, He blessed the food and broke it before He distributed it to the masses. He does the same with us. Before He can use us in a ministry capacity, he has to bless us and break us.
He blesses us when he accepts us into the family of God. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are blessed. We become joint-heirs with Christ. We obtain the hope of Heaven, and we receive forgiveness for our sins. As followers of Jesus, we are blessed!
The breaking process looks different for everyone. For some of us, he has to break us from someone or something: drugs, alcohol, a bad relationship, a hobby we put above Him, a belief we have that is wrong, ad infinitum.
Others go through breaking processes that are common to this life, but severely painful: loss of a spouse, death of a child, losing a home, losing a job, financial ruin, physical or mental disability. These events and circumstances can be debilitating and feel hopeless, but with Christ, the breaking process isn’t the end of the story.
He turns a test into a testimony and a trial into a ministry. When we suffer in this life, God can use what the devil meant for evil and turn it into joy!
The mom who lost her child can be a minister who guides other grieving parents through a process and leads them to Christ along the way. The father who lost his job can teach His children better than anyone how faithful Jesus is to provide. The illness you suffer with that Jesus later heals is a proof of his healing power!
No matter what breaking process you’re facing, you can survive on the broken pieces, and God can then distribute you to the masses for His glory!
