Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
It’s the never-ending quest: life balance. Can we ever have it? What does the Bible say about it? Balance shifts based on the seasons of your life.
As the verse at the top states, our life revolves around seasons - and not just winter, spring, summer, and fall. Some of you are in a season of change: new job, new baby, new marriage. Some of you are in a season of grief: loss of a spouse, a parent, a friend, a child. Some of you are in a season of learning: students and new converts. Whatever your season - there is a purpose for it under heaven.
God has ordained this season in your life to grow you, to teach you, and possibly to reach you with the message of His love.
According to Zig Ziglar, there are seven areas of your life that you must balance: spiritual, physical, mental, personal/social, financial, career, and family. Different seasons will cause different areas of your life to receive more attention than others, but we must (italicize) be mindful to give each of these areas attention in our life.
3 John 1:2 KJV
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Imagine the 6 areas as a wheel with the spiritual section as the hub: if you only focus on 5 of the 6, you’re going to have a flat tire, and those make driving difficult. To keep a good flow in our lives each area needs attention.
The most important area in your life is the spiritual part: our relationship with God. When we neglect God, the whole wheel collapses and our life is in disarray.
What’s worse? When Jesus isn’t in your life at all:
Daniel 5:27 KJV
Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Don’t be found wanting, when God assesses your life in His balances. Give your heart to Jesus so you can have the peace you need in EVERY season of your life.
