My Children Walking in Truth
3 John 1:4 KJV
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
As a mother, I have no greater concern than ensuring my girls grow up saved, marry saved men, and raise my grandchildren in the fear of the Lord. With my girls being 6, 4, and 2, these worries may seem unfounded to many, but God sees the end from the beginning.
I will bring my requests humbly before him regularly because I have no greater desire than to be in heaven with my girls some day, and to accomplish that, they must walk in the truth of God’s word.
But will they walk in the truth of God’s word if I don’t teach it to them? As a parent it is our duty to train our child not only how to eat, walk, talk, bathe, read, and write, but to also instruct them in Biblical truths.
Proverbs 22:6 KJV
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
That ^^^ is what I want: my daughters not to depart. I want them to get saved and stay saved and never even have a desire for the temptations the devil will likely bring their way.
Can I guarantee that will happen? No. But I can do everything in my power to help it come to pass: pray for them, teach them the Word, bring them to church, and talk to them about my faith. As a Christian parent, this is my duty.
