How Deep Have You Gone?

Ezekiel Ch. 47, depicts Ezekiel going deeper and deeper into the river flowing from the future Millennial Temple. He starts at his ankles, moves to his knees, then his loins, and finally the water is so deep, he has to swim.

The depths of the river symbolize our relationship with the Lord. The river is the Holy Spirit, and the deeper we enter the river, the more control the Holy Spirit has in our lives.

At the ankles, you are only trusting God for salvation, and that’s a great place to be! If you don’t get saved, you’ll face the Great White Throne Judgment - and you don’t want to be there!

But if we only stay at the ankles, we are the primary driving force in our lives. We can move the water, rather than the water moving us.

If we move to the knees, that free movement becomes a little harder, and when we move to the loins, even more so. When we finally get to the point that we’re swimming, the Lord has complete control of our lives.

No matter which stage you’re in, we should desire to go deeper into the river, so that He may increase and we may decrease (John 3:30).
