God’s Will Be Done
When the Assyrian army threatened the very existence of Judah, King Hezekiah brought the issue to the only one who could help - the Lord:
Isaiah 37:14 KJV
And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.
Hezekiah made the right choice. When we face uncertainty, adversity, or disaster, we must seek the Lord. He is the only one who can provide every need for every situation. The Lord created us to be relational beings, and he often uses our fellow men and women to help us and serve us in our times of need. King Hezekiah was no different. The Lord sent Isaiah with a message in response to Hezekiah’s prayer:
Isaiah 37:33 KJV
Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
Now, when the Lord speaks, we have two options. We can believe His word, or we can choose not to believe. Here, Hezekiah chose to trust the Lord, and then the Lord fulfilled His word about the King of Assyria to Hezekiah:
Isaiah 37:36 KJV
Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
With no army at his disposal, the King of Assyria returned to his country: and by the end of the chapter, we get the details of his death. We should never go against God’s people, and we should always trust that God will fulfill His word. What He did for Hezekiah, He can do for you!

For with God nothing shall be impossible.
