The Best Advice

We often seek advice from friends, relatives, and neighbors, but do we get advice from God? The Word of God has wisdom on every aspect of our lives: friendship, money, marriage, work, parenting, education, and most importantly our spiritual relationship. The books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, both written by King Solomon under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, give advice in all of these areas, and they are just a small portion of the Bible.

Let’s look at some examples…

Friendship:

Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Money:

Ecclesiastes 11:2 KJV
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

Marriage:

Proverbs 5:18 KJV
Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

Work:

Ecclesiastes 11:4 KJV
He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Parenting:

Proverbs 22:6 KJV
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Education:

Proverbs 23:23 KJV
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Serving God:

Ecclesiastes 12:1 KJV
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

These are only a small portion of the wealth of wisdom found in the Word of God. Whatever advice you seek, the Lord has the answer. Seek Him!
