Where is Wisdom?

Most people equate wisdom with knowledge, but they are two entirely different things. Knowledge is facts and figures, but wisdom is knowing what those facts and figures mean. Knowledge is rules and procedures, but wisdom is knowing how to apply those rules and procedures. Knowledge is dates and details of historical events, but wisdom is avoid ing the repetition of history.

Most people think we receive wisdom where we receive knowledge: schools, universities, intellectuals, experts…but this is not so.

Job 28:12-13 KJV
But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? [13] Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

We can’t buy it, we can’t even find it… so what do we do? Where can we get it? By reverencing God:

Job 28:28 KJV
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

If we fear God, then we will obey His word. His word alone is wisdom and truth. When we do what the Bible tells us to do, we will be blessed and have all that we could ever ask or think, including an eternity of peace and joy with our savior, Jesus Christ.
