That I May Know Him

Philippians 3:10 KJV
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

So many people know Jesus. They know His name. They know His story. They know He was a good man. They know He was a moral teacher. They know He was a prophet. But sadly, they don’t truly know Him.

We have to know Him and the power of his resurrection. To truly know Christ, you must know Him as your personal savior. Then and only then, will you know His power because at that point you will receive the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus did His miracles during His earthly ministry, He did them as a man empowered by the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, revealed the thoughts of others to Christ, and released the demon possessed from Satan’s chains, lives in us when we accept Christ as our savior.

Obviously, we are not a perfect vessel for the Holy Spirit to work through as Christ was, but do we even know a fraction of the power that lies within us? Are we willing to know that power and let it work within our lives? When we do we will see lives changed (including our own) as never before.
