The Right Harvest

Galatians 6:8 KJV
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Farmer’s expect that what they plant will some time later come out of the ground. But sometimes, they get a surprise. Often, they see weeds rise up between their crops, but other times, they have volunteer crops spring up too.

Volunteer crops are last years crop attempting to come out again the following year. The problem with this crop, is it’s useless. It’s stunted and not worth human consumption.

When we get our spiritual live stuck in yesteryear, we grow volunteer crops. God doesn’t want last year’s crop that has no nutritive value, he wants what he is planting today! We need to focus on the work at hand and not what was accomplished in the past.

When we get our eyes upon this years harvest and the work God has called us to accomplish and put our every effort into finishing that work, we will hear:

Matthew 25:23 KJV
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

I want to be a good and faithful servant and enter into the joy of the Lord.
