Let Us Adore Him
Luke 2:8-10 KJV
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
The first to worship Jesus were the lowest rung of society. Jesus’ birth was announced to lowly shepherds. We may want the best of society to recognize us, but Jesus let the lowest come to His birth.
Then, when Jesus was 8 days old, He was circumcised at the temple. While He was there, two faithful believers worshipped him:

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
While we typically depict the wise men at the nativity scene, the wise men did not come to the manger scene. The wise men “came into the house,” therefore, they likely came when Jesus was an infant or toddler - not a newborn. Regardless, the last of the group to come and worship the King of kings was the wealthy. (Side note: How do we know they we wealthy? They brought gold, frankincense sense, myrrh as gifts, and those were not cheap things to bring.) God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) and He loves all, but it is important to note that those who we would love to receive first, He received last.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Jesus deserves praise from all of mankind because His birth led to His death, and through His death, we have salvation. So every season, week, and day Jesus deserves our praise - not just in the Christmas season. For if we don’t sing his praises the rocks will cry out (Luke 19:40). Praise Him today!
